Eleanor

This is a Manibus-aided painting in acrylic on paper. Dimensions 14x11" This is first painting created utilizing Manibus device at Ballet Des Moines with professional dancer, Eleanor. She wore the motion-sensing remote to instruct the painting robot, Manibus. Manibus simultaneously rendered the dynamics of her movements into paint on paper. Manibus was created by visual artist, Amenda Tate Corso. It is a robotic tool utilized to translate the ephemeral and dynamic movement of ballet into a sustaining work of art. In this work, the choreography was contemporary and improvisational. The colors were selected to reflect her personality. Conceptually, this work has captured Eleanor's essence as well at the spirit of the choreography. The resulting form appears light, energetic, and ready to lift off in flight.
