Ballet Des Moines professional dancers, Luis and Amelia, take turns wearing a motion-sensing remote to control the Manibus painting robot. The choreography is from the ballet Snow White. Manibus simultaneously renders the dynamics of their movements into a painted work of art. Manibus was created by visual artist, Amenda Tate Corso. It is a robotic tool utilized to translate the ephemeral and dynamic movement of ballet into a sustaining work of art. The Raven is portrayed by professional dancer, Luis, and depicted in black. The Wicked Queen is portrayed by professional dancer, Amelia, and is depicted in gray. Painting the two related parts on atop the other from the same scene gives us a visual glimpse as to the relationship between the two.
