Portraits

A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. The Robot Artist can draw colorful portraits with mixed media, including color crayons, oil painting brushes, turpentine, markers and technical pens. Crayons can be used for detailed drawings because of their pointed tips. However, they cannot be mixed together well. The brush dipped with turpentine helps mix the colors along the boundaries, increasing the diversity of colorful portraits. The usage of the brush gives another merit that it washes over the colors and makes them look tenderer and milder. On the other hand, the marker vividly depicts the contours which can effectively express the character images. Due to the thinness of the technical pen, it can be used to embellish the shades, reinforcing the three-dimensional effect of the portraits without making the shades overly noticeable.
