we used photo shop to reduce the image to 9 colors and 25X34 pixels then used a java program to convert each pixel to a command like this px1y169!l telling the arduino exactly what to do for that pixel.

if you tilt your head to the left and squint you can kind of see a pot with flowers. we didn't Finnish painting because we were nearing midnight
